Standing tall among the rest is oldies expert Corky Warren, Cruisin' 92.1, WVLT's Special Events Coordinator. He's also the host of "The Time Machine" every Saturday evening right after Johnny Lerro.
Corky is seen in this spring picture with John Roberts, who was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame a few years ago. John worked for Channel 6 and the WFIL radio stations.
John Roberts was one of the founders of WHYY-TV, the PBS station in Philadelphia. He was also the weekend news anchor for Channel 6 in the fifties, sixties and seventies including the first couple of years of the "Action News" format. Roberts anchored in the fifties and early sixties, a 90 minute radio news format. However, many of us remember John Roberts as a professor of communications at a major Delaware Valley university. He's truly a broadcast legend.
