Jim Albertson is a folk performer who, for many years, was active as a teacher of the speech arts, oral interpretation, acting, theater arts and as an actor and director for community theater projects. He served as director of the Hayes House, a college community service program in Morris County, NJ. He also has conducted a weekly folk music radio show and was a member of the popular folk music group known as The Bottle Hill Boys.
Jim was M.C. of the New Jersey Folk Festival, as well as coodinator of many folk music programs in New Jersey. His "N.J. Folklore Sampler" is published by Middle Atlantic Press. His recording "Down Jersey" (FS-5203) is on the Smithsonian Institution's Folkways Label.
Jim served as President of the New Jersey Folklore Society 1980 - 1982. His service in this capacity earned him the New Jersey Folk Festival's Second Annual Award For Distinguished Contribution to Folk Music in New Jersey.
