Frank Gerace was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Frank and Jean Gerace of Penns Grove, New Jersey. Frank says that the fact that he "was born in Delaware to a New Jersey couple has led to determined efforts on the part of officials in both states to get Frank to move to Montana, or Texas, or better yet, Guam."
Beginning his radio career in 1977, Frank Gerace started broadcasting as a freshman at Lebanon Valley College, in Annville, Pennsylvania. His on-air style on the college radio station, WLVC, can best be described, in Frank's words, as "unmentionable in polite society."
Then Frank, who was heard daily from 10 am to 2pm over WVLT, Cruisin' 92.1 for several years, tried his hand at his "chosen" field of endeavor, music education. His work in that area, brought enthusiastic shouts from both students and other teachers, "Where'd they get you from?" (The answer, of course, was Penns Grove, New Jersey.)
Frank continued onward and upward in his radio career working at both WNNN and WJIC in Salem, NJ in 1986. He's also been employed at WNRK in Newark, Delaware, WAMS and WDEL in Wilmington, in addition to Cruisin' 92.1, WVLT, where he's been since 1993. This is all part of his continuing quest "to be the next rich and famous guy from Penns Grove." Frank Gerace is now doing radio production for WCOJ, Coatesville.
