Jimmy Dee was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. The youngest of 6 children, he was always surrounded by music and laughter. His music career began by listening to the newest sounds played by his siblings in their home. It was no doubt he would have a professional career somewhere in the arts. In 1977 at the young age of 18, he started that career working with legendary disc jockey Jerry Blavat. In 1978 he became the Music Director of Blavat’s TV show The Discophonic Scene and later, in 1979, added Announcer of The Discophonic Scene to his resume. During that same year, Jimmy had his own radio show on a station in Chester, PA. During most of his career, he also worked in various nightclubs in the Delaware Valley, while continuing his radio career in Harrisburg, Wilmington, Wilkes Barre and Philadelphia. In 2002, he joined Cruisin’ 92.1 and helped with the transition to oldies. He then became the afternoon guy followed by his current shift of morning guy. Jimmy has also worked with many recording artists, including Teddy Pendergrass, The Jive Five, The Trammps and many more.
