Carl Hemple, General Manager of WVLT sadly announced the death of one of our own, Edward Misiewicz, known to everyone as Rockin' Eddie.
Eddie passed away Sunday afternoon, February 27th at about 5 pm. He returned from work, sat down and had a glass of water, and that quickly, he was taken from us.
Rockin' Eddie was the "King of the Car Shows!" His "Cruisin' with Rockin' Eddie" program has aired over WVLT for the past five years and was hugely popular with everyone.
The Daily Journal of Vineland said: Ed loved his radio show on 92.1; Cruisin with "Rockin Eddie," his numerous car shows, antique cars, Corvette Club and Garden State 50 Club. He was a devoted father and husband with strong ties to the Marriage Encounter Circles throughout the areas. "Rockin Eddie" loved to entertain people. He was a most dedicated worker, whether it was his own stores or the many years he spent at ShopRite. Ed's love for life, family and friends will never be forgotten.
Rockin' Eddie is survived by his wife, Dolores. The couple had two children, Eddie and Dede.
Carl Hemple said: Rockin' Eddie was always a gentleman. His kindness and friendliness was shown to everyone he met. He was a leader and that leadership was shown here at Cruisin '92.1 by Rockin' Eddie by his program's phone calls. Every listener was a friend, even if Eddie never met the person. This is a true loss to his family, the station and our community. He will be missed.
